Meeting with Geyze Diniz: A Transformative Perspective on Hunger in Brazil

Initiatives of the Pact Against Hunger

21 May 2025

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Geyze Diniz — Co-founder and Chair of the Board of the Pact Against Hunger — to our São Paulo office for an inspiring and transformative conversation.

Geyze shared the work of the Pact Against Hunger, a nonpartisan and multisectoral coalition dedicated to finding structural and lasting solutions to ensure that, by 2030, no one in Brazil goes hungry.

During the discussion, we addressed the challenges of hunger and food insecurity in Brazil — a reality that affects more than 8.7 million people. We also reflected on the impact of food waste, which accounts for approximately one-third of all national food production.

We learned about high-impact initiatives such as the CEASA Project, aimed at reducing losses in supply centers, and the Pact Against Hunger Award, which has already identified and recognized over 800 hunger-fighting projects across the country.

At Turim, we believe that legacy is also built through collective choices. Having the opportunity to listen, learn, and engage with a topic of such relevance reinforces our commitment to building a more conscious and sustainable future.
