OAB-RJ Committee on Wealth Management & Family Office

Last Friday, our partner and Head of Legal and Compliance, Luisa Saboia, participated in the 17th meeting of the OAB-RJ Wealth Management & Family Office Committee, held at the BMA Advogados office in Rio de Janeiro.

Turim’s presence on this Committee reflects the importance of being engaged in discussions that shape the future of the sector, where we have been pioneers for over two decades.

The meeting addressed highly relevant topics, particularly an update on Bill No. 1087, which deals with the minimum personal income tax (IRPFM). The bill proposes an income tax exemption for individuals earning up to R$ 5,000 per month and, in turn, introduces progressive tax rates for annual incomes exceeding R$ 600,000, reaching 10% for incomes above R$ 1.2 million per year.

Débora Bacellar, a tax partner at BMA Advogados, presented the key points of the bill and shared insights into the challenges the new legislation may pose for taxpayers.
